Bryce: whats up Joey, how are things going?
Joey(FA): Really good
Bryce: awesome glad to hear that, how is Halo treating ya? tearin it up?
Joey(FA): Yup i like throwing the grenades but its always better if you have more than one person playing
Bryce: ya, I unfortunatley have never had the pleasure of playing Halo, but I am down with throwing grenades at people.
Bryce: so let these folks know, whats the name of your band, and who else is in it (and instruments)?
Joey(FA): Forgotten Arrival is Joey Perez and i play rhythm guitar and sing back ups and scream.Travis Aimer lead vocals, Nick Lucas Bass, Warren Freer lead guitar, Ian Nakazawa Drums.
Bryce: awesome, what is the thought behind Forgotten Arrival (the name) and what brought you guys together?
Joey(FA): The name kind of speaks for it self The lord came and we are here to remind people that He did come. What brought us together? Our passion and desire to reach out to the kids of our generation and give then a new hope and of course music
Bryce: all great things. Tell us a little about your CD "Through Your Eyes" what can people expect when they listen to it. Also give your best comparison to give people a better idea of your sound.
Joey(FA): our music resembles everyday life and struggles that people go through like if you have trouble with your family or if its a girl problem. "Through your Eyes" is The lord looking down on us and how we are seen through His eyes.
Bryce: interesting. I like
Joey(FA): People say we sound like noise ratchet and taking back sunday but our new ep thats comming out soon is more thrice, thursday, saosin influenced.
Bryce: speaking of the EP, whats it called and when is it coming out? By they way (thats a rad mix of music)
Joey(FA): when we all agree on the name we will tell you, but right we are still recording so it should hopefully be out by late june or begining of july, but so far the new sound is rad.
Bryce: ok awesome, shoot for July 29th (thats my birthday)
Joey(FA): ok sounds good, we will give you a shout out
Bryce: what type of backgrounds do you all come from, as far as styles of worship, service style etc.
Joey(FA): well i go to calvary myself and go to Greg lory Travis has been leading worship since he was 16, Nick has just been saved and is now a new believer wanting to learn more everyday Warren is in worship at coast hills and is in the worship band. Ian is all over the place he comes with all of us every where.
Bryce: PRAISE GOD for that. The excitement of being a new believer. That is so rad, I strive for that excitement everyday. I will be praying that he never loses it.
Bryce: How has it been working on Indie Vision Music?
Joey(FA): Really good Bradon is such an awsome guy he is such a hard worker and he helps us out as much as he can
Bryce: ya, hey whats the release date for "Hearts Bleed Passion Vol. 1" I know we all are anxious to hear it. Especially your new track "Tear Soaked Dreams" which you can hear on www.hxcmp3.com
Joey(FA): Its should be out soon at the end of this month i believe we love palying that song live its so rad
Bryce: SO this song is what you were talking about being more in the vain of bands like Thrice?
Joey(FA): not really this song. T.S.D is more a mix of different styles put together some emo some punk ,screamo there is something for everyone in this song its only 6 minutes long haha
Bryce: geez thats all, you guys really need to kick it up a notch, I want to see some Extol action, 11 minutes long
Joey(FA): uh that might be alittle to long, but its not out of the Question
Bryce: hahah, nice....
Bryce: When you think about Jesus Christ, what are the first 5 words that come to your mind? What does your relationship to him mean to you?
Joey(FA): Savior bleeding rebirth sacrifice nails, Its mean alot to know there is always someone there looking out for me where ever i am and no matter what kind of day ive had i can always turn to him for the answers in life.
Bryce: for sure its great to know he says that he will never "leave you or forsake you". NEVER is a pretty umbrella type word, it pretty much covers everything
Joey(FA): Yup it sure does
Bryce: do you ever get people that have the idea that punk / hardcore except cannot be a valid ministry tool?
Joey(FA): yeah there are always people who are scared and what not and people who try to make you see it different but once they really listen to the music and they see the following of the youth and adults too they change their minds.
Bryce: that is good to hear. It is good to see Christians opening their minds and starting to take God out of the box we have hid him in for quite awhile
Bryce: Curious, have you seen the movie "The Passion of the Christ"?
Joey(FA): You know i actually have not seen it yet i will see it though soon but i keep hearing from everyone how moving it is and how it touched them.
Bryce: let me know what you think, it was great, and eye opening. In opinion still not anywhere as brutal as it actually was
Joey(FA): i will for sure. the movie im sure was nothing to what had acually happened. its awsome what he did for us
Bryce: ya, incredible.
Bryce: Hey, thanks so much for your time man. Any little nugget of wisdom or shout out you wanna leave us with?
