I love Of Mice & Men. After the first album I believed that they were Christian. Now that their second album is out I'm not so sure. I know for a fact that Austin Carlile (lead vocalist) believes in Christ. Can you help me out?
Good question.  These are always difficult questions because I do not know the state of anyones hearts only God alone does.  However I scowered the internet and the typical consensus seems to be this.  (1) Of Mice & Men is not a Christian band.  (2) Vocalist Austin Carlile seems to be a Christian, though maybe not super outspoken.  (3) They would see themselves more as a positive metalcore band.  Many people note the Christian undertones in their lyrics.  This would likely be due to Austin's faith.  Below is a vimeo link to an interview with A...

Hello! Friends... I need your help. Can you give me some Christian Metalcore Bands (but really christian) ok? my other question Underoath and As I Lay Dying are christian metalcore bands?? Please answer me here or on E-mail. Thank you a lot!
It depends on your definition of metalcore, but I suppose I will answer this assuming As I Lay Dying / Underoath are somewhere in that range.  First off a good place to check is Facedown records (www.facedownrecords.com) primarily hardcore / metal also Come And Live (www.comeandlive.com) though not primarily hardcore have some decent metalcore acts.  Both labels give out nothing but Christ Centered music and would be a good place to start to find some good new stuff.  Some of my personal favs would be A Plea for Purging, Onward to Olympus and Fallstar.  All have very sol...

I work in a church and am looking for some good presentation software for slides and worship, what are my options?
Well Steven, There are a lot of options!  I have in the past used MediaShout 3, 3.5 (Windows) and ProPresenter 4 (MAC).  Both of those have served me well.  However both come with limitations due to cost and being tied to one OS.  I recently heard about a new one called Proclaim, it hasn't been released yet, but it should be coming out very soon.  It is a web based Presentation software so it runs correctly on either OS and people can work on it throughout the week rather than when they are sitting in front of the computer with the presentation s...

Hey! I'm making an interactive story book or a game about Jesus or the Bible for my thesis. You guys have any ideas?
This is an odd question indeed.  I suppose it depends on the age group because the Bible is full of awesome true stories, but some of them may not be suitable for 0 - 6.  How about "The Revelation Christmas."  Everyone has heard the Christmas story of Luke 2.  It is a great story but I recently realized the account of The Dragon & the Baby in Revelation 12 is the spiritual parrallel to the Christmas story.  Luke 2 recounts the story of Christ's physical birth and what it meant to man.  Revelation 12 recounts what the birth of Christ meant in t...

Do you think it's important to know how to play an instrument to know how to write songs? I write songs but i can't play the guitar, which is aggravating and a real downer sometimes. My friends and i are trying to start a band, and it's really hard to communicate my ideas to them. It took us 2 months to get 1 song almost finished. Any ideas?
I would be lying if I said it didn't help.  I guess I would need to know what you mean in "knowing how to play."  If by that you mean you can't play any chords, that can make the process very difficult, if by that you mean you don't know theory or music reading that is easier to work with.  If you problem is not being able to play chords in general, I just suggest practicing.  It takes some time but there are tons of youtube videos that can show you guitar basics and with a little determination you will get it in no time.  Just push through the...

Dear Bryce, Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's law. I have learned a great deal from you, and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend homosexuality, for example, I will simply remind him or her that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some of the other laws in Leviticus and Exodus and how to best follow them. To wit: When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord (Leviticus 1:9)
Thanks to a friend of mine I realized that this is an e-mail that has been passed around the internet.  But it does bring up some interesting stuff that I am sure a lot of people have questions about so I decided to respond to it regardless.  I hope some of the resources given in this article will be helpful to you.  If you have any other questions feel free to contact me via the contact page. The general question concerning issues like this is "Should Christians obey the Old Testament and New Testament Law?" For example: slavery, animal sacrifice, sabbath, etc....

I'm gay. What do you (and Jesus) honestly think of me?
The answer is simple, I love you, He loves you.  The Bible says a lot about homosexuality and I do hold that up as truth, however, I believe many Christians have taken it to an extreme that God never intended. Yes homosexuality is a sin, but so is a lot of stuff.  A lot of Christians have hurt so many gay people by "following God" proclaiming hate "in the name of God" and they don't realize that their sin is just as bad.   I would like to say that God loves you and sent Jesus for everyone.   I think Jesus would have spent time with you, I ...

We are not based any one specific place. ChristCoreMusic.net started in Sacramento, CA (Rancho Cordova actually) that is where I live. But the people who keep ChristCore running live all over the U.S. I couldn't do it without them!...

I have become angry, pissed-off at people, and I am just plain old frustrated. I would like to be better then this, any suggestions?
(not Bryce, but I agree) I get you man, I struggled with the same thing a while back & it was only until my "mentor" taught me that Satan was attacking me that I realized it was because I started to be a threat to his kingdom that he attacked me back. I asked God for more of the Holy Spirit, for Him to fill every section of my life & to help me give my entire life to Him, so that each of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23) will be manifest in my life, regardless of circumstances. Also do as Psalm 1 says: read your Bible daily and meditate (think about constantly) what you read. You will be l...

Why do Christians focus so much on sins such as homosexuality while ignoring sins such as gluttony and greed? This seems hypocritical to me and almost made me lose my faith. (It's also why I'm not a Republican, which makes many people think I'm not a Christian.)
I am not really sure why that is. I don't believe that I myself focus on one form of sin over another. All sin is equal in God's eyes, the only sin that is "different" is sexual sin only because it is a sin against the body. That doesn't mean it is worse just different. In general I try my hardest not to focus on the sins of others. It is not my place to judge others but love them. If I judge them for their sin whatever it maybe I better be ready to get judged for the sin I fall to daily. I just try to accept people regardless of what their struggle is temptation, gluttony, greed. You ...

How to give encouraging words to an engaged unequally yoked couple?
My best advice would be truthful to them. I mean in honesty you do want them to be happy, and to have a good marriage, you will be their to support them regardless. So make sure they know that. I am not sure which one is the Christian but you should talk to them about it, if you already have then you have done your part. It is up to them to make that decision. From that point all you can do is pray for God's will and be their to show Christ's love to them. ...

One of the questions that I had some difficulty with was when my friend asked where God came from. If he created us who created him. I told him that he was the Alpha & Omega, the beginning and the end and had always been.
First of you answered perfectly in saying he is the Alpha & Omega. So GOOD JOB! Now to elaborate on that. According to a couple websites (that did this research for me) there is one thing scientists have had to acknowledge that our universe is a created thing. The reason they did not want to acknowledge this is because all created things must logically have a creator. As far as the idea that God has always been, that is a tough pill to swallow for us finite beings. All we know is created things (babies, plants etc). Try to explain it this way. Take the creator of the paperclip (AN AMAZING I...

bryce, i have noticed that youre totally an awesome man of god! are you glad of the choices youve made in your life whether good or bad? (drinking, drugs, peer pressure, etc)
Well first off, thanks for the rad compliment. I don't know that I deserve it, but I am totally blessed by it. I am glad of all the choices I have made GOOD and BAD. Especially the bad, oddly enough. It is through my constant bad choices, and need for forgiveness that I have built up safeguards that I can teach to others, and have given many more tools for my ministry. Of course I am glad for my good choices. But I love learning from my mistakes, and the fact that God just shows unending grace, ALWAYS, it is awe inspiring....
