Oct 3rd | In reply to number 11, (2). I'm wondering why so few churches and/or youth groups don't touch base on this issue more, can you answer me why there isn't more people fighting this "epidemic" out there? I cannot really speak for all the churches out there and why they do or don't speak on it. I try to be pretty open with the guys in my youth group about it let them know how God is helping me through. As for girls I do not think it would be right for me (being a guy) to discuss that with them.
I do believe it should be something talked to them about by another girl in the group though. Often it is not seen as a struggle for women which I believe is a shame.
I believe there is a great number of people fighting the epidemic to name a few off the top off my head:

| | Oct 1st | (1) What is your take on all of the porn sites out there? (2) do you think this is a problem? (1) I think it is very sad how sex has been tainted in our society. I also think its sad that there are probably more pornographic websites on the internet than any other kind of site.
(2) I believe it is a huge problem. It is something that causes many brothers and sisters to stumble. I have recently made the decision to safeguard myself by buying a program that blocks all of it. ...[ READ MORE | Posted on: October 1st, 2003 PST | By: ]
| | Sep 30th | what should i do for this girl at school who i told about God and she seems sorta interested but scared of what her friends will think of her? Thats a tough one because everyone to some degree is concerned with the way others view them.
For you, first just pray about it, it is the most powerful tool you have. You have planted a seed. The fact that you have talked to her about God is awesome. Just pray and wait for God to work on her in HIS time.
for her, use practical things from your or someone you knows life that show her why Jesus is worth it. A lot of times speaking in "Christianese" (using lots of christian words) to people doesn't work, we have to tell them in there language, which is why Christ spoke in parables.

| | Sep 28th | If you knew the world was going to end in 24 hours and you could do anything you wanted, what would you do before the world ended? I would stop being so lame, get out of my bubble and walk up to complete strangers and tell them about the love of Jesus.
I am working on doing that now, but that would definitley be motivation....[ READ MORE | Posted on: September 28th, 2003 PST | By: ]
| | Sep 28th | What would you do if your friend was struggling with women and the pull of the wrong womanly "influence"? In situations like that, which being a youth leader I hear about a lot. I often give my visual example. This may not translate so well over the web but here goes.
Imagine you are standing on top of a chair and you try to pull your friend up. It is pretty difficult. Now them standing on the ground they try to pull you down from the chair. They can do so with ease. In the same way being unequally yolked in a relationship will inevitably cause you to stumble.
It is hard enough to not fall to the wrong influences when both people are fighting, when one person is trying to do it, it mak...[ READ MORE | Posted on: September 28th, 2003 PST | By: ]
| | Sep 26th | (1) Where do you stand on fornication? (2) What do you think about all the people who call themselves Chrsitians, yet live permiscuous sexual lives? (3) Do you belive that being married is when you have a piece of paper from the state, or do you believe marriage can be had when two people come together with God and make a commitment to eachother in every way. (1) I believe sex is something meant for marriage.
(2) I think it is very sad when Christians fall into a pattern of promiscuoity, but I would not look down on them in any way. It is something that many great Christian people struggle with. My judging them is no way to stop it, only through the power of Christ can people be set free from the bondage of sin. So my approach would be to pray for them.
(3) I believe that as Christians we are called to follow the laws of the government (Romans 13). I believe that a Christian marriage is more than just a piece of paper, but I believe in order ...[ READ MORE | Posted on: September 26th, 2003 PST | By: ]
| | Sep 26th | (1)Whats your opinion on "Adult Entertainment"? Where do you stand? (2) What do you think Jesus's thinks about porn? (3) What is your opinion of people who call themselves Christians yet watch it all the time? (1) I believe adult entertainment is wrong. That is where I stand, that has been one of the biggest struggles in my life. But I also know that I have victory over it through Christ, because he is fighting on my side with me and I will overcome.
(2) I cannot really speak for Jesus, but I believe he would see it as adultery and it breaks his heart to see it. I also people he loves the people involved in it as much as he loves me.
(3) Christians are not perfect people we all screw up in different ways daily, whether it be lying, pornography, or all the other sins we fall to everyday. In my ...[ READ MORE | Posted on: September 26th, 2003 PST | By: ]
| | Sep 25th | What does acountability mean? I tried to ask other people and i cant get a straight answer. Accountability is a way for Christian people to look out for each other and make sure we are all on the same track. It goes right along with "love your neighbor as yourself." If we see a fellow Christian slipping whether it be drugs, sex, drinking etc we can hold them accountable by asking questions, "have you done this recently?" , "What can I do to help you stop this?" things like that. It is a more direct way of helping someone rather than just saying "I'll pray for you" and forgetting 10 minutes later. I know I need other peoples help to get me through struggles in my life, accountabil...[ READ MORE | Posted on: September 25th, 2003 PST | By: ]
